Who Are We ?

An Accessible MKE Fitness community since 2012 and a Trauma-Aware Clinical Wellness Program since 2015.  See our story!

We are, above all, a wellness community. Our model is a model of social justice: we believe that quality wellness services should be available for the whole community.

We understand that wellness spaces/services can be standardized in ways that only reach a small slice of the population, so we will actively listen to our clients to create a session and a practice space that align with their personal needs, vision and intersecting identities.

Our mission is to constantly grow and explore how to be a diverse, culturally-affirming, accessible space for our community. For this, we have an internal education team and clinically-informed supervisors that support our growth.

Finally, we aim to be a positive part of our community by honoring our natural surroundings and resources.

See our Green Initiatives here!

ACCESS is what MATTERS.

We celebrate and welcome all identities, all abilities and all bodies. LGBTQ brave space. Body Positive/Neutral Space. ALL levels of mobility welcome. We collaborate directly with experienced physical and mental health professionals to recommend good approaches for body-mind connection practices. We focus on continuing education and we have an internal training program for our providers. Ask us to learn more!

Sensory-friendly spaces

We provide in-person and online services in spaces that fit your needs. In-person services happen out of  our movement clinic, natural spaces in WI and client's homes.

All languages welcome

We work with translation services and cultural liaisons from our community.

Arabic and Spanish Speaking Wellness Cultural Liaison available directly through us.

All income levels welcome

We work with pay-what-you-wish and pay-it-forward fees, instead of sliding scales.

About us

A Literal Marriage of Ideas

COVID-19

Best Practices

Update

In light of the recent ruling by the Wisconsin Supreme Court pertaining to Wisconsin’s “Safer at Home” order, the Ascent Wellness Program will continue to abide by all the safety guidelines. The Ascent Wellness Campus is currently open at 440 W. Vliet Street in a space that was designed during the pandemic. AWP  practices disinfection of spaces and used materials per session. Our spaces are permeated with filtered air, allow comfortable distanced movement and our staff is encouraged to mindfully use physical barriers (i.e. COVID-19 screens) when necessary.

Our staff responds to COVID-19 screens every day, to follow best practices, and when face-to-face sessions occur, clients are also asked the same screening questions. Telehealth is usually a good second option for client's/employees quarantining or socially isolating.

Final Note:

We are deeply aware of our obligation to our staff, their families, our community and our clients to follow research-based best practices when it came to reopening.  This has been done carefully, in an intentional matter and in a way that would allow us to be proactive. We all try to create solutions, as a team, creatively, to better support our dear clients/patrons and employees during these times.

We’re currently implementing telehealth services and have created strict safety measures for outdoor and indoor services. These measures have been put in place to ensure a safe, enjoyable movement/mindfulness experience.

In the meantime, we’ll continue doing what we do best: supporting you with your wellness lifestyle and keeping you motivated to manage stress/symptoms via movement, meditation and nutrition.

We appreciate your continued support and patience—and can’t wait until we can once again safely gather.

Note: These guidelines are followed by all agencies associated with Ascent Wellness Program.
