What if I don't like/don't feel comfortable in wellness spaces (gym, yoga studios, etc.)?
Come visit our spaces (or check them here) and see if it is a different experience for you.
You can also call and request a tour from us to get to know us.
Our clients expressed liking our environment because it has a "comfortable feel" and does not seem like a clinic/gym environment.
Still don't like it? We also provide home services, video services, park and outdoor services.
Our services are client-centered: you choose the location of services and your providers (if they are not a good fit, you can request a different provider. Simple!).
What if I can't pay for services/equipment out of pocket and I am not connected to any of the programs with the Behavioral Health Division?
We have an Ascent Wellness Program pay-what-you-wish community program that is provided through the non-profit Ascent for life, Inc. !
Same program, same quality of services, same values!
I can't afford buying gym clothes or materials. Will this space have this into account?
We absolutely have this into account! All of our services require and encourage minimal equipment. Even when you have home services or are logging into online services.
If you need athletic clothing/ equipment, we have a free SWAP closet and we can show you what we have in stock. We accept clothes and materials that are relevant to all our services: nutrition, yoga, meditation, music therapy, fitness and outdoor services!
Finally, we can also help you find resources on second hand stores as well as Craigslist/ Facebook Marketplace and will help you assess its quality.
What if I am not sure I will like it?
You can try this service through a 3-session try-out program. 8 week program, 12 week program or ongoing services.
Talk to us and interview us, so we can respond to your questions.
Stop, cancel, pause, change providers/ services any time. It's YOUR experience.
What if I have specific health issues and/or am managing a chronic illness?
Talk to us. Our team is always attending internal training/supervision sessions, so they can be informed about physical and mental health needs.
All of our folks take a minimum of 20-30 hours a year of continuing education to increase their knowledge and ability to provide affirming services for our clients!
Finally, we are not a medical facility and also understand our role well. We do not provide medical advice and we work in conjunction with your medical team (if you have one and wish to include us).
We also look forward to learning more about your own non-medical healing practices/traditional healing practices and your vision, so we are honoring them.
Note: If you need extra support during your wellness path we can provide names of amazing rehabilitation professionals in MKE. Especially, if an assessment is needed or another support would be of value. We will work with what you choose and we fully trust the professionals in our network.
We provide private and confidential services and will not disclose health information. All of our programs follow HIPAA.
What if I don't speak English, prefer not to speak English outside of School/Work or want services that know my cultural backgrounds?
We work with translation / interpretation services and we have a cultural liaison program in our space.
What if I have children and can't find the space to practice?
Talk to us. We are always working towards being more of a family-friendly space for our staff and our clients. For now, we can be creative in what we provide. Our spaces are child-friendly and we have a parent's room for feeding, changing babies and for your own self-soothing.
We have delivered parent-baby and family sessions before. We can also, on a limited basis, book the presence of our front desk specialist to provide play time activities and child supervision during your session. You can interview her and see if you feel comfortable with the latter option.
What if I am living with a physical, intellectual, sensory, mental health disability?
We have ADA accessible spaces and services (including our kitchen). See our accessibility features. We also have our Accessibility Advocate/ Manager in our space who trains us and supports with best practices.
