Client-Centered, Sensory-Friendly Physical Therapy Services
Ascent Physical Therapy
Ascent PT & the AWP Campus
An amazing synergy
Ascent PT is housed and is part of the Ascent Wellness Campus - a sensory-friendly & accessible Milwaukee space that focuses on providing integrated quality services in different areas of wellness and recovery.
Our approach in service delivery is invitational: we pay attention to any adaptations you may need/prefer in service. We strive to be a trauma-aware space that focuses on supporting our client's nervous systems.
We are also an educational space, as we find it important that the things you learn in PT can be of added value in your daily life. This is why movement and rehabilitation practices will be a collaborative exploration with your PT.
Read below what Ascent PT specializes in and why it is such a great addition to the AWP campus! Referral form and flyer at the bottom of the page.

Why Ascent PT?
Being an integral part of a wellness campus that focuses on somatic practices and accessibility, we have yearly training in disability advocacy and etiquette, Neurodivergent-affirming practices, trauma-sensitivity, Universal Design for Learning and LGBTQIA+ affirming service delivery.
We have created opportunities for clients to continue their self-care after the appointments end. PT clients can, then, have access to self-pay packages for PT services and low cost clinically informed movement, nutrition, mindfulness and stress management services as well.

Ryan Garman, PT
Ascent PT Lead Physical Therapist

Jill Schutz
Ascent PT Intake Specialist
Jill Schutz is the Intake Specialist for Ascent Physical Therapy. She ensures that all clients are able to receive timely, accessible services after their referrals are sent over. By keeping client’s charts up to date and organized, she helps our Physical Therapist continue to provide client-centered care. She will likely be the first face you see as you walk through the doors of AWP’s building. She enjoys welcoming clients into our space, and providing a comfortable area to relax in before and after sessions. In addition to PT Intake, Jill works as the Front Desk Specialist and Youth Intake Specialist.
Originally from the Chicagoland area, Jill came to Milwaukee for school, and fell in love with the community-oriented feel of the city. She graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a BA in English, concentrating on Technical and Professional writing. She hopes to use her educational background as she grows with AWP.
In her free time, Jill enjoys being outdoors. Kayaking and taking walks with her pups are two of her favorite pastimes. Cooking is another passion of hers, which she finds very therapeutic. Jill believes in AWP’s mission of interconnecting mental and physical health. She is excited for the opportunity to be a part of such a unique and wonderful team!
